Identity
Theft Portal was created after I experienced
identity theft personally, as well as in my extended family
and in my circle of friends. Personally, I was fortunate in
that the theft of my credit card information didn't cost me
anything (but it did get provide some nice stuff for the thief
who was in England.) Some friends of mine weren't as fortunate;
they had credit opened up in their name with thousands of dollars
in merchandise purchased. They are still cleaning up the mess
created by this crime. Identity

commited to providing information to help people protect themselves
from identity theft and to help identity theft victims recover
from having their identity stolen.
